Beijing summer palace / Palais d'été de Pékin

I already posted about the summer palace in Beijing, and here is the view you see when you get in the park. Here, everything is about beauty, calm, and balance with nature. Everything the emperor sees should be beautiful, I guess this is the way this palace was thought of. In the back you can see the building of the emperor, he had a panoramic view over his domain, and was physically above all things to symbolically emphasize his power.
There is still quite a contrast with the forbidden city, I will explain in a later post why.

J'ai déjà posté sur le palais d'été de Pékin, et voici la vue que l'on a depuis l'entrée du parc. Ici, tout tourne autour de la beauté, de la tranquilité et de l'équilibre avec la nature. Tout ce que l'empereur voyait devait être beau, je suppose que le palais a été construit dans ce sens. Dans le fond on peut voir le bâtiment de l'empereur, il avait une vue panoramique sur son domaine, et était physiquement au-dessus de tout ce qui renforçait symboliquement son pouvoir.
Il y a tout de même un certain contraste avec la cité interdite, j'expliquerai pourquoi dans un post ultérieur.

Is it me or do emperors just have a thing about summer and huge palaces?
I already mentionned the Schrönbrunn palace in Vienna on this note.
This is one of the numerous pavillions of the summer palace in Beijing. It is a very nice place, in my opinion much more enjoyable than the forbidden city. The architecture is very rich and colorful and nature gets an important place. One remark though : the people living there must have been very healthy considering all the stairs they had to climb... But the view from there... I'll probably post it another day!

Est-ce moi ou les empereurs ont juste un penchant pour l'été et les palais gigantesques?
J'ai déjà parlé du palais de Schrönbrunn à Vienne dans cette note.
Voici l'un des nombreux pavillons du palais d'été à Pékin. C'est un endroit très agréable, de mon point de vue, bien plus appréciable que la cité interdite. L'architecture y est très riche et colorée et la nature y a une place importante. Une remarque pourtant : les personnes y habitant devaient être en très bonne santé vu le nombre de marches qu'ils devaient monter... Mais la vue de là-haut... Je la posterai surement un autre jour!
